Water Management

South Worcestershire Lifesaving and Lifeguard Club’s “Aquatic Rescue Service” is one of only a few in the country that is able to offer an independent voluntary safety cover service for all types of open water recreational, boating and sporting events. The Club specialises in the provision of safety patrols for rowing, triathlon and open water swimming events, through a risk assessed process that provides an operating plan that fits within event organisers.

Any persons or organisations wishing to contact the club for events, the club will provide appropriate levels of cover that are agreeable with event organisers in order to mitigate their legal obligations.

On contact the club will provide communication with their water safety team; the club has Defra level 5 water incident managers and SLSGB water supervisors to assist.

Patrols are usually offered in the Worcestershire area and event organisers are invited to make a donation to cover costs and towards the support of the overall club and its activities. The club runs regular training days to enable seniors to qualify for patrols.
